1. About Reelm and These Terms

Reelm is operated by Reelm Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. We run a streaming platform at reelm.co.uk dedicated to AI-generated short series and films.

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Reelm platform, including all content, features, and services we make available. They apply to all users including viewers, creators, and visitors. They should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

We are a user-to-user service as defined by the Online Safety Act 2023, meaning we allow users to upload, share, and view content created by other users. We are subject to the duties that Act places on such services, including the duty to take action against illegal content.

2. Who Can Use Reelm

Viewers must be aged 13 or over. Users aged 13 to 17 must have parental or guardian consent.

Creators must be aged 18 or over. Creator accounts involve commercial agreements and payment processing which require users to be adults.

By creating an account you confirm you meet the applicable age requirement. If we discover an account was created by someone who does not meet these requirements, we may close it immediately.

3. Your Account

When you create an account you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at lord@reelm.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may not create an account on behalf of someone else, share your credentials, or create multiple accounts to evade a suspension. Each account is for a single individual.

4. Viewer Terms

Free tier viewers access the Reelm library at no cost supported by advertising. By using the free tier you consent to seeing advertising content.

Reelm Premium is a paid subscription providing ad-free viewing, early access, and exclusive content. It is billed monthly or annually as selected at purchase.

As a viewer you may watch content for personal non-commercial purposes, react to and comment on content, and share links to Reelm content on other platforms. You may not download, record, copy, or redistribute any content without permission from the rights holder, or use the platform for any commercial purpose without our written consent.

5. Creator Terms

By applying as a creator you represent that you are aged 18 or over, legally entitled to upload and distribute your content, and that your content does not infringe any third party rights and complies with all applicable laws including the Online Safety Act 2023.

AI-generated content. Reelm is built specifically for AI-generated series and films. You are permitted and encouraged to upload AI-generated content. By doing so you represent that:

You are responsible for ensuring your content meets all requirements in these Terms before uploading. Reelm does not review all content prior to publication but reserves the right to remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

6. Content Licence

When you upload content to Reelm as a creator, you grant Reelm Ltd a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, distribute, stream, display, reproduce, and promote your content on the platform and in connection with Reelm's marketing activities.

This licence is granted solely to operate and promote the platform. We do not acquire ownership rights in your content. This licence specifically allows us to stream your content to viewers, generate thumbnails and preview clips, include your content in curated features, use short clips to promote Reelm and your work on social media, and store backup copies for technical resilience.

If you remove your content, the licence ends for future use. Aggregate performance data may be retained in anonymised form. You also grant each viewer a personal non-commercial licence to view your content on Reelm.

7. Content Ownership and AI-Generated Works

Your content belongs to you. Reelm does not claim ownership of any content you create and upload. Subject to the licence in Section 6, all rights remain with you.

AI-generated content and UK copyright law. This area of law is actively developing and we want to be honest with you about it.

Under Section 9(3) of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, the author of a computer-generated work is the person who made the arrangements necessary for its creation. In most cases this would be the creator who directed the AI tools — meaning you retain the copyright.

However, the UK government launched a consultation in December 2024 on whether to retain, amend, or abolish copyright protection for computer-generated works. The outcome may change the legal position. We strongly recommend creators document their creative input and the role they played in directing AI tools, as evidence of human authorship strengthens copyright claims under both current and likely future law.

By uploading AI-generated content to Reelm, you represent that you made sufficient creative arrangements and decisions in producing the work to be the most appropriate rights holder under applicable law.

If a third party claims content you have uploaded infringes their rights, we may remove that content while the claim is investigated. We will notify you where possible and give you the opportunity to respond.

8. Prohibited Content and Conduct

9. Online Safety Obligations

Reelm is a regulated user-to-user service under the Online Safety Act 2023. As of 17 March 2025, we are legally required to assess risks of illegal content, take proactive steps to prevent illegal content, remove it when we become aware of it, and protect children from harmful content.

As a creator, you must not upload content falling within the categories of illegal content defined under the Online Safety Act. Violations will be reported to law enforcement and to Ofcom where required.

As a viewer, you can report content you believe violates these Terms or applicable law by contacting us at lord@reelm.co.uk. We will assess reports promptly. If you are dissatisfied with how we handle a report, you may contact Ofcom at ofcom.org.uk.

10. Content Moderation and Removal

Reelm does not pre-screen all content before publication. We rely on creators to ensure compliance before uploading. We will remove content in the following circumstances: it is illegal under the Online Safety Act 2023; it violates Section 8 of these Terms; a valid copyright infringement claim is made; it violates any other provision of these Terms; or we are required to by law or a regulatory authority.

Where we remove content for reasons other than illegal content, creators will be notified where possible and have an opportunity to appeal by contacting us. We will not remove content solely because it is controversial or challenging, provided it does not violate these Terms or applicable law.

11. Payments, Subscriptions and Refunds

Viewer subscriptions are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise recurring charges at the selected interval until you cancel.

Your statutory rights. Reelm supplies digital content to you as a consumer. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, that digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer protection law.

Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access until that date.

Refunds. If you experience a significant technical failure preventing you from accessing the service, contact us at lord@reelm.co.uk and we will provide a proportionate remedy in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before changing subscription prices. You may cancel before the change takes effect if you do not wish to continue.

12. Creator Monetisation and Payouts

Creator revenue share and monetisation features are available to eligible creators. Specific terms including revenue share percentage, payment thresholds, and payout schedules are set out in the Creator Monetisation Agreement provided at onboarding, which supplements these Terms.

Key principles applying to all creators: payouts are processed through Stripe and require a valid connected account; Reelm may withhold payouts where content has violated these Terms or where required by law; you are responsible for declaring and paying applicable tax on income earned through Reelm; Founding Creator benefits are personal to the account and cannot be transferred.

We reserve the right to modify the creator monetisation programme with at least 30 days' notice of material changes to revenue share terms.

13. Intellectual Property

The Reelm name, logo, platform design, software, and original content created by Reelm are the intellectual property of Reelm Ltd and protected by copyright, trade mark, and other laws. You may not use these without our prior written consent.

If you believe content on Reelm infringes your intellectual property rights, contact lord@reelm.co.uk with a description of the infringed work, the URL of the infringing content, your contact details, and a statement that you have good faith belief the use is not authorised. We will respond promptly to valid notices.

14. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable UK law including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to the above: Reelm is provided on an "as available" basis; we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access; we are not responsible for content uploaded by creators who are solely responsible for it; our total liability to you in any 12-month period shall not exceed the greater of the total amount you have paid to Reelm in that period or £100.

15. Suspension and Termination

By you. You may close your account at any time by contacting lord@reelm.co.uk. Content will be removed within 30 days.

By us. We may suspend or terminate your account where you have materially violated these Terms, uploaded illegal content under the Online Safety Act 2023, or where required by law or a regulatory authority. For serious or illegal content violations we may act immediately without notice. Where we suspend for other reasons we will notify you and give you an opportunity to respond. Appeals can be made by contacting us and we will respond within 10 working days.

16. Changes to These Terms

We will notify you of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Material changes include changes to your rights, creator monetisation terms, or content ownership provisions. Minor corrections or clarifications may be made without prior notice.

If you do not agree to updated Terms you may close your account before they take effect. Continuing to use Reelm after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If a dispute arises, please contact us first to try to resolve it informally at lord@reelm.co.uk. If we are unable to resolve it informally, any legal proceedings shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country grant you the right to bring proceedings locally — in which case those rights are not affected.

UK consumers may also refer disputes to an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider where applicable. We will provide details upon request.
